Bridgeland – Food, Fashion, & Health and Wellness

We are so fortunate to be located in a neighbourhood where there is such a strong emphasis on community. You just have to take a walk around Bridgeland to be completely charmed by it.

From cool views of the downtown core, to awesome eats, Bridgeland has something for everyone.

Let me take you on a quick tour of one of my favourite neighbourhoods in Calgary.

Luke’s Drug Mart

I know what you’re thinking, “a drug mart?” but Luke’s is no ordinary drug mart. You will find some of the best skincare lines such as “ S.W. Basics of Brooklyn” (my personal fav), and “Baxter of California”. Also you can pick up some Sydney Hale Candles to have your house smelling phenomenal all year long. Not to mention Luke’s also has curated a wonderful record collection that you can spend some time perusing over but perhaps my most favourite thing about Luke’s’ is their “Stumptown Coffee” … Coffee Aficionados know that Stumptown Coffee is the holy grail. So next time you are in Bridgeland, pop into Luke’s, get a coffee, a pastry and head on your way.

Great Eats

Shiki Menya

All I can say about Shiki Menya is YUM, YUM, YUM! The Ramen here is absolutely amazing! With handmade noodles and explosive flavours, Shiki Menya will want you having more. My personal favourites are the Chili Goma and the Char Sui tacos but honestly with whatever you order, I am sure you will be left feeling satisfied! Come in early though, Shiki Menya serves about 150 bowls a day and once they are out they close for the day.

Burger 320

There are some days when I am just in the mood for some comfort food. The Burgers at 320 and the Parmesan fries know how to hit the spot. Have I mentioned that they also serve gelato? Keep in mind that there is limited seating in Burger 320.

Main Dish

Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner, Main Dish has it all. Eat a yummy kale salad or sit down for a delicious mouth-watering flat iron steak. Main Dish allows you to eat in or to take your food home.

Blue Star Diner

This inviting diner features a simplistic, modern design. It feels homey the second you walk inside. They are environmentally conscious and locally driven. Their ingredients are fresh and sustainable. My personal favourite is the smoked salmon and avocado. Make Blue Star Diner your next brunch spot destination.

Bridgeland Market

From fresh market flowers, to cured meats, and artisanal cheeses, Bridgeland market strives to bring you fresh quality ingredients to make a delicious meal at home. Head over to the chip aisle and pick up some sriracha chips for a fun snack.

Sisters Home

If you haven’t visited us yet, hopefully we have given you enough of a reason to pop into our neighbourhood. Stop by and say hi to us. We would love an opportunity to meet you.

Health & Wellness

Walking

Take a walk around Murdoch Park and enjoy views of the downtown core. In the summer pick up a sandwich from Bridgeland market and have a picnic. In the winter there is a small hill where you can go tobogganing. Just take with you a hot cup of coffee or a nice apple cider.

Fit Republic

I have not had the chance to visit fit republic but with workout classes that include, anti gravity, TRX, and rowing, it just seems like a fun time. Definitely on my must-try list.

There are so many wonderful local businesses that are found around Bridgeland. I am sure that I have missed some great places but that just gives me an opportunity to keep on exploring.

What are some of your favourite places to visit or some of your favourite things to do in Bridgeland?

  • My sister and I walk from Mayland heights to Bridgeland weekly. We always stop for coffee & to check out the new merchandise at SISTER’s home! Then on the way home we stop and play fetch with the cute dog on the corner of 1st and 10th( I think??) Always good for a laugh:))

  • Definitely the Bridgeland Riverside Farmer’s Market, the heart of the community! Delicious fresh, organic & ethnic foods; fabulous activities for kids, support of local businesses, knowledgeable vendors… the market is the classic spirit of this neighborhood!
