Denim Guide - How to Find your 'Perfect Pair'

We have all been there at some point in our lives, in search of the ‘perfect pair of jeans’. More often than not, we are left with a sense that the ‘perfect jeans’ are somewhat like the Loch Ness monster. Yes, we have all heard of this mythical creature but does it actually exist? As a petite, curvy girl, I can tell you that my search for the perfect jeans has usually been a long, arduous process that usually leaves me feeling defeated. However all of that changed a few weeks ago, when we got our first shipment of yoga jeans. Yes that is right, yoga jeans. After a few wears, I can attest that “yoga jeans” are the most ‘perfect pair of jeans’ that I have owned. The stretchy denim allows me to move easily but never overstretches (no saggy bum here). The high wasted skinnies even elongate my 5’2 frame and I haven’t even mentioned the best part! No dreadful muffin top! In my books, these jeans are a win, win! At the end of the day everyone deserves a pair of jeans that they can feel great in.

Take a peak at my denim guide below to guide you into your perfect pair of yoga jeans.

High Rise Skinny Jeans

Here's a secret about high-waist jeans: They're actually not "high-waisted" at all. They're higher than what we're accustomed to, but they hit at your natural waist thus creating a leaner appearance. Think Katherine Hepburn.

Ideal for: Curvy, Petite, Hourglass, long-waisted Pear Shape

Style Tip:

Pair with a leather jacket for a chic biker look, or tuck in a slim blouse for a sleeker look. Also don’t be afraid to try a little coloured denim. Burgundy coloured jeans are hot, hot, hot!

Mid Rise Skinny Jeans:

Did you know that the Mid-rise is considered the most universally flattering shape? Mid-rise jeans tend to avoid the infamous “muffin top” and help smooth out your figure.

Ideal for: Pear Shaped Figure, Apple Shaped Figure, Petite and Curvy

Style Tip: Pair with a sleek blazer and pumps or leopard ballet flats for a polished look or a nice flowy top for a more casual look.

Boyfriend Jeans:

Don’t be fooled by the name, boyfriend jeans can be just as feminine as skinnies while giving you more room to eat that extra course without having to undo the top button.

Ideal for: Everyone

Style Tip: Roll once or twice at the cuff and pair with chunky boots or stilettos. Add a chunky knit sweater and viola! Or pair them with your favourite fitted sweatshirt, sneakers, or a crop top for a relaxed vibe
